Daoism

When Dojunim first arrived in the US he referred to his second teacher as Daoist Lee. He did not know his first name and only knew him as Lee Dosa (Teacher Lee). Much of the philosophy and ki development exerciese that Dojunim was taught is similar to Daoist teachings both from philosophical and religious traditions. Though not strict Daoism by any means, what Dojunim teaches has a strong Buddhist influence on the Daoist concepts and is therefore more similar to Chan, Zen, or Seon Buddhism. The foundation texts of Daoism, basic information, and how it relates to Sinmoo Hapkido is given below.
